With Lucas Duda cleared for baseball activity, but still a ways away from returning to Citi Field, the Mets need James Loney to continue his run of solid play since joining the team at the end of May.
Loney's .280 average in 2015 belied a major drop in on base and in power that resulted in his starting the season in the minors, with some doubts as to whether, at 32-years-old, he'd have the opportunity to reestablish himself as an every day player.
Given that opportunity as a Met, he has embraced it and has provided an unexpected offensive burst.
