Mets manager Mickey Callaway said he was impressed with Yoenis Cespedes' ability to play through pain despite the veteran outfielder dealing with a sore left quad.
Cespedes went 2-for-4 with a home run and a running catch in left field in Sunday's 4-2 loss to the Philadelphia Phillies, and Callaway said he appreciated Cespedes' effort.
"He did a good job," Callaway told reporters after the game. "When he had to run hard, he ran hard. When he went to get a ball in the corner, he ran hard. He hit a homer. He's gutting it out for the team.
