NEW YORK -- Terry Collins said Saturday his New York Mets will be ready when they play the Washington Nationals and Chicago Cubs. Maybe they should have been more ready for the Atlanta Braves.
The Mets lost a second straight game to the worst team in the National League, and this one was bad. The bullpen couldn't hold a lead, another Met may be injured and the winning run scored in an inning filled with Mets indifference. Then the Mets had the tying run thrown out at the plate for the first out of the ninth inning.
