Moments after introducing his newest signee Wilson Ramos at a Citi Field news conference on Tuesday, the Mets’ rookie general manager Van Wagenen proclaimed, in an interview with SNY, “Internally, we would argue that we’re the favorites in the division right now.”
Wait, what? Upon first hearing that, I parsed the words and wondered: Was Van Wagenen disclosing intra-office arguments in which he said, “We’d win the NL East right now!
