Brodie Van Wagenen was scheduled to talk to Mickey Callaway on Thursday, with the plan to resolve the Mets managing situation no later than Friday, sources told The Post.
The Mets have yet to publicly indicate whether they intend to keep Callaway for the final season of his three-year contract or dismiss him.
Mets officials have met this week to determine how to proceed. Among the issues they have mulled is whether a different support staff could provide help to Callaway in areas of need — such as in-game strategy and being able to better impart organizational messages.
