But throughout his first four starts of 2021, deGrom’s performance has been, somehow, even better than before. After striking out 50 batters over his first four starts, including 15 in last night’s utter dominance against the Nationals, deGrom’s ERA is down to a minute 0.31. He joins just Pedro Martinez, Gerrit Cole, and Sandy Koufax as pitchers who have struck out 14 or more batters in three consecutive games.
