PHILADELPHIA — Brandon Nimmo woke up Tuesday morning with a stiff neck, but thought he had the problem solved by the time he participated in a pregame drills.
Then came his first at-bat against Phillies starter Nick Pivetta.
“When I took that first swing, I felt my neck lock up,” Nimmo said after the Mets’ 14-3 loss at Citizens Bank Park. “It was just to the left side at that point, and so I just battled the rest of the at-bat and then when I got on first base and got into my lead, I almost couldn’t hold my head up.
