WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — Brandon Nimmo is trying to make up for lost time, caused by the soreness in his throwing arm early in spring training and the virus that recently sidelined him.
The outfielder had four at-bats in a B game Thursday morning before taking three more plate appearances in the Mets’ 6-4 loss to the Nationals in the afternoon at Ballpark of the Palm Beaches.
Nimmo also played left field against Washington.
“It just felt good to be out there,’’ said Nimmo, who singled to right in his second at-bat against Stephen Strasburg.
