Boras took out insurance on Matt Harvey's arm: report

Matt Harvey seems to have put any concerns about innings behind him, but his agent is playing it safe — just in case.

Boras took out an insurance policy on the Mets righthander’s arm at the end of the season, CBSSports.com reported, just as the posturing over his innings limit was reaching a fever pitch.

The value of the insurance isn’t known, CBS reported; Harvey, who’s in his first full season following 2013 Tommy John surgery, is under the Mets’ control through 2019.

As the season drew to a close, the Mets and Boras were in a public dispute over Harvey’s innings, leading to a bizarre bit of rotation juggling down the stretch, with Harvey skipping starts and making mini-starts of five-to-six innings.
