Blue Jays legend Tony Fernandez is fighting for his life, according to multiple reports.
On Friday, the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame said the 57-year-old former shortstop was in critical condition after suffering complications from polycystic kidney disease, which Fernandez revealed he had in 2017.
Fernandez, a five-time All-Star and four-time Gold Glove winner, had his leg operated on Friday night because doctors found a clot, according to former Toronto teammate Jesse Barfield.
Barfield on Saturday offered up an update on Fernandez, who also played for the Mets and Yankees during a 17-year career in MLB.
