The Mets started off a big road trip on Friday, seeing them jet set all over the West Coast with detours in St. Louis and Colorado, and the beginning of it did not go as planned. After snatching defeat from the jaws of victory Saturday night, they put together a rather flat display on Sunday afternoon, falling to the Angels 3-2.
The Mets actually struck first on the day, scoring one in the second inning. Francisco Alvarez reached on a fielding error with two outs, a Jeff McNeil walk forced him to second, and Harrison Bader singled him home.
