The Mets on Tuesday signed Bautista, just let go Sunday by the National League East rival Braves, because they’re absolutely desperate for a righty-hitting outfielder in the wake of injuries to Yoenis Cespedes and Juan Lagares — the latter season-ending, the former something less than that, the Mets sure hope.
