After a rainout and a well-needed day off, the Mets let their rested bats loose, picking up 16 hits and 16 runs on their way to an easy win over the Braves, 16-4.
The Mets took advantage of spot-starter Allan Winans early, scoring in each of the first three innings. A walk and two singles led to a run in the fourth, A walk, a double, and an error led to a pair of runs in the second, putting the Mets up 3-0.
In the third, the Mets broke the game wide open. Back to back doubles by Francisco Álvarez and Jeff McNeil and then a home run by DJ Stewart drove in four, and the Mets were cruising on getaway day, up 7-0.
