The ageless Bartolo Colon continues to turn back the clock, throwing seven shutout innings as the Mets beat the Twins Friday night at Citi Field.
The Mets got all the runs they needed in the third when Jose Reyes and Asdrubal Cabrera hit back-to-back solo home runs to give the Mets a 2-0 lead. It was the 20th homer of the season for Cabrera.
The Mets added a run in the seventh for good measure on a Yoenis Cespedes single.
Colon allowed just three hits in his outing, with six strikeouts and two walks.
