Bad start, missed opportunities sink Mets after Rodón dominates early on

On 4/20, the Mets did not experience the highs they had the previous day, when they swept a doubleheader from the Giants and earned their eighth and ninth wins of the season. Instead, the team was smoked by San Francisco, falling 5-2 as they saw their three-game winning streak lit up and turned to ash.

Things got off to an inauspicious start from the jump as Chris Bassitt got into immediate trouble in the first. Mike Yastrzemski blooped a ball to left that fell in right in front of the diving Mark Canha, who was playing in his first game after returning from the COVID-19 list.
