The Mets’ big-time beef with the Phillies has trickled all the way down into the minors.
The Amazin’s already had been vexed with Philadelphia first baseman Rhys Hoskins’ meandering 34-second home run trot intended to show up pitcher Jacob Rhame last week.
But when Rhame came on to pitch Monday night for Triple-A Syracuse’s game at the Lehigh Valley IronPigs — the Phillies’ affiliate — a video operator decided to troll the demoted pitcher by showing a replay of Hoskins’ trot on the scoreboard behind Rhame as he warmed up.
Properly incentived, Syracuse erased a one-run deficit in the last two innings to notch a come-from-behind 7-4 victory, blasting DMX’s “Ruff Ryders’ Anthem” over a portable speaker to celebrate.
