Astros trade Davis to Mets for prospects

HOUSTON -- The Houston Astros have traded infielder J.D. Davis and a prospect to the New York Mets for three minor leaguers.

The teams announced the trade Sunday. The 25-year-old Davis played 42 games for the Astros last season, when he hit .175 with a homer and five RBI. In Triple-A Fresno, he hit .342 with 17 homers and 81 RBI in 85 games.

The Astros received outfielder Ross Adolph, catcher Scott Manea and infielder Luis Santana in the deal that also sent infielder Cody Bohanek to New York. Adolph hit .
