The A's have acquired reliever Jeurys Familia from the Mets for two prospects and international slot money.
Will Toffey, a 23-year-old third baseman and Oakland's 17th-ranked prospect, is one of the players going to the Mets, according to MLB.com's Anthony Dicomo. The New York Post's Joel Sherman reported that Minor League pitcher Bobby Wahl is the other player in the trade.
Neither club has confirmed the deal.
Combined with All-Star closer Blake Treinen and rookie phenom Lou Trivino, Familia helps form a three-headed relief monster for a club making a surprising playoff push.
