BOCA RATON, Fla. — It sounds like a Catch-22.
The Mets have two catchers they like in Travis d’Arnaud and Kevin Plawecki and view both as starters, but don’t want to trade either of them. So how does that work?
Team brass will spend the winter trying to find an answer, even as opponents continue to gauge the Mets’ interest in dealing a catcher.
“Catching is a position where you can’t have enough depth,” assistant general manager John Ricco said Tuesday at the GM Meetings.
