The Amazin' Mets were most amazin' yesterday at the Polo Grounds. Right hander Tracy Stallard went the route against the best-hitting club in the majors and big Jim Hickman went cycling with a stick to down the flag-contending Cardinals, 7-3.
Becoming the first Met ever to hit for the cycle, Hickman accomplished the feat in direct order his first four times up - single, double, triple, homer. This production accounted for two RBI and two runs scored. Needless to say, this was Jim's most memorable day in the majors.
