Jay Bruce playing first base this season may be an option after all.
Mets GM Sandy Alderson spoke to the media on Friday, and admitted that he wouldn't mind Bruce playing first on a "reasonably every day basis" if that is what the team needed.
Alderson added that Bruce has demonstarted his skill at the postion in the past, which is why the team didn't feel the need to give him reps there this spring. He also didn't want the media to roll with the story that Bruce could be the team's first baseman.
Adrian Gonzalez is set to start the season as the Mets' first baseman despite his struggles this spring.
