Alderson says Harvey's in 'excellent shape' heading into spring training

A year after health issues cut his season short, Matt Harvey looks good to return to form in 2017, general manager Sandy Alderson told the New York Post.

Harvey, who had his 2016 season cut short after complications with Thoracic outlet syndrome, said earlier in the offseason that he has not experienced any pain in his arm while throwing after he did much of last year. While Alderson said he has not seen Harvey throw in person, he is optimistic about the pitcher's progress.

"I haven't actually seen him throw off a mound, but I've seen video, know he's in excellent shape," Alderson said.
