New York Mets GM Sandy Alderson has been named the Baseball America Major League Executive of the Year (Rubin, Dec. 1).
Alderson was hired by the Mets after the 2010 season and suffered through four straight losing seasons during a rebuilding process.
In his fifth season his plan came to fruition. A combination of talent he oversaw the development of (Matt Harvey, Jacob deGrom and Jeurys Familia) and players he acquired or drafted (Noah Syndergaard, Travis d'Arnaud, Curtis Granderson and Michael Conforto) helped the Mets finish with a record of 90-72 in 2015.
