KANSAS CITY -- It was a new season, but it was the resumption of one of baseball’s great mano a manos:
In one corner, it was the swing-and-miss starter du jour from your reigning National League champs, the New York Mets. That would be Matt Harvey, ladies and gentlemen.
In the other corner, it was the lineup that refuses to swing and miss, the contact parade of your reigning American League (and World Series) champs, the Kansas City Royals.
And nine innings later, we had ourselves one more reminder of why the Royals won that 2015 World Series -- and why the Mets’ awesome starters have so much more trouble overpowering this team than they do everyone else on the planet.
