Adeiny Hechavarria won’t let his awkward Mets exit go.
The utility infielder was designated for assignment by the Mets in early August, right before a $1 million roster bonus was set to kick and hasn’t stopped producing since joining the NL East champion Braves.
Hechavarria didn’t hide how happy he is playing for Atlanta while taking a dig at the Mets after going 2-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs scored in the Braves’ 8-1 win over the Giants on Saturday.
He channeled his inner Joe DiMaggio while doing so.
“I just want to thank God for the opportunity, removing me from the Mets and putting me on this team,” Hechavarría said through a translator when asked about his season during an on-field interview.
