Francisco Alvarez signed with the organization in July 2018 and blew through the system befitting someone of his talent level. In 2019, with the GCL Mets and Kingsport Mets, the 17-year-old backstop hit a combined .312/.407/.510 in 42 games. After missing the 2020 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Alvarez hit a combined .272/.388/.554 in 99 games for the St. Lucie Mets and Brooklyn Cyclones. In 2022, he hit a combined .260/374/.511 in 112 games with the Binghamton Rumble Ponies and Syracuse Mets and earned himself a shot cup-of-coffee at the end of the season. In 2023, he had a memorable rookie season with the Mets, and while he experienced a sophomore slump in 2024, the 23-year-old catcher remains the future.
