The New York Mets aren’t likely to acquire an outfielder in advance of the trade deadline, according to Adam Rubin of ESPN New York.
In speaking with people familiar with Mets' plans, I was told (1) You work too hard, and (2) Don't expect the team to acquire an OF.

New York's outfield has collectively batted .236/.297/.369 this season, though those numbers have been largely inflated by Curtis Granderson‘s very solid .243/.340/.417 batting line.
Michael Cuddyer, Juan Lagares, and John Mayberry Jr. haven't been very effective this year, but the Mets do have one of the best outfield prospects in baseball in Michael Conforto.
