Both David Wright and Travis d'Arnaud took significant steps in their respective injury recoveries on Friday, taking batting practice at the New York Mets' complex out in Port St. Lucie, per manager Terry Collins.
According to Adam Rubin of ESPN New York, "Collins added that Wright and d'Arnaud should be in minor league rehab games next week."
Wright has been on the disabled list since April 15 with what was first a right hamstring strain and now is a troubling case of lower back pain.
D'Arnaud fractured the pinky bone on his right hand after he was struck by a pitch from Miami Marlins right-hander A.J. Ramos on April 19. He was able to take his soft cast off on May 11 and was cleared to resume work at the play this week.
