Knicks fans will get a very early look at rookie phenom Zion Williamson at the Garden.
According to an NBA source, the Pelicans will visit the Garden during preseason, taking on the Knicks on Oct. 18.
Williamson, the No. 1 pick in the draft, faced the Knicks summer-league team on July 5 but only lasted nine minutes, scoring 11 points before leaving with a knee injury. Williamson was shut down for the rest of summer league and Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski said afterward he thought his former player was out of shape.
The Pelicans’ matchup will also be Julius Randle and Elfrid Payton’s first match against the club that didn’t re-sign them.
