LONDON — NBA commissioner Adam Silver said he supports Enes Kanter’s decision to not travel to London and is taking “very seriously” a report Wednesday stating the Turkish government will issue an extradition notice for the controversial Knicks center.
An NBA source said the league wouldn’t act until any official extradition move is made by Turkey and would work with the State Department if it occurs. Kanter decided against coming to London with the team to face the Wizards in its special showcase game in Britain held Thursday at O2 Arena.
“My stance is I think it’s very unfortunate Enes Kanter is not here with the New York Knicks,” Silver said.
