A couple national television appearances and $5,000 later, a boy’s grade-shaming father already has a third NBA trip in mind after he called out his son’s failing report card at two games in recent weeks.
The dad — who requested he be referred to as Thomas’ father out of “love” for his 12-year-old son — said he promised to reward his son with a game of his own if he meets Dad’s academic expectations. And, yes, a sign can be involved — with a twist.
The father said Thomas’ test began Monday, his first day back in the classroom.
