The NBA Players Association released a statement to The Post in strong support of Kristaps Porzingis, believing the evidence will vindicate the former Knicks star.
The Post reported Saturday that Porzingis is under investigation by the NYPD for a rape claim made Thursday regarding an incident that occurred 13 months ago. Porzingis’ lawyers have contacted federal authorities, claiming extortion from the accuser.
The union statement, from its director, Michele Roberts, states: “We have been aware of these allegations for some time, have evaluated the accuser’s claims and, based on what is presently before us, stand with Kristaps.
