Wait till 2019!
Celtics point guard Kyrie Irving, out of West Orange, N.J., erupted for 31 points, including 15 in the third quarter, to help Boston repel the Knicks, 121-112, at Madison Square Garden on Saturday.
Knicks fans only can dream Irving will bring his talent to the Garden when he’s a free agent in 2019 and the Knicks next have cap space. Irving put the Knicks on his short wish list over the summer.
This would’ve been another Celtics’ blowout if not for the continued dazzle of backup point guard Trey Burke, who came off the bench to post a second straight 26-point game — his Knicks high.
