Time for Knicks to sign Trey Burke to long-term deal

It looks like the New York Knicks may have found their starting point guard in Trey Burke. He’s done nothing but played great basketball all season. Whether it was in the G League or now with the Knicks.

For some reason, the Knicks and head coach Jeff Hornacek were reluctant to have Burke start over Emmanuel Mudiay, who they traded for earlier in the season, but they finally gave in a couple of games ago. It has certainly paid off and Burke is proving that he belongs and that he’s New York’s top point guard.

While the Knicks fell to the Charlotte Hornets on Monday night in overtime, Burke did his best to carry them as he put up 42 points to go along with 12 assists.
