Young centers Mitchell Robinson and Mo Bamba were teammates in the McDonald’s High School All-American Game 19 months ago. Since then, the 20-year-old 7-footers took different routes to the NBA.
Robinson sat out a year after dropping out of Western Kentucky and was selected 36th by the Knicks in June as a project. Bamba, out of Harlem, starred at Texas and played his way into the lottery as a one-and-done, selected with the sixth-overall pick by Orlando.
Robinson and Bamba met Sunday at the Garden in a sidelight to the Knicks-Magic matchup.
