After Thursday night’s loss to the Portland Trail Blazers, the New York Knicks now own a 27-45 record and the twelfth seed in the Eastern Conference. The 2016-17 season has been a rollercoaster ride for them, and they’re now likely lottery bound. As a result of their inability to compete in the Eastern Conference, they’re better off losing games, as opposed to winning them, so that they can give themselves a better chance at winning the NBA lottery.
Doing so though is a daunting task, being that the fans still come out to watch this team play and how head coach Jeff Hornacek is paid to win games, not lose them.
