The New York Knicks have assigned center Luke Kornet to the G League, per Stefan Bondy.
The Knicks came into the 2018-19 season with quite a few question marks at the center position behind Enes Kanter. Most of those questions have been answered fairly spectacularly by the play of second-round pick Mitchell Robinson, who has supplanted Kanter in the starting lineup and is putting up a tidy 6.0 points (on 63.3% shooting) and 4.3 rebounds per game. With Kanter anchored in the backup role, that has left no playing time for Kornet, who has played a mere 13 minutes total this season.
