The New York Knicks are in the bottom portion of the competitive, yet terrible, Eastern Conference. The 9th seed and the 15th seed in the Eastern Conference are only separated by 2 games. Therefore, it’s going to be a battle for every Eastern Conference team on the outside looking in.
Being in last place in the Eastern Conference is definitely not the end of the world. However, a three or even two-game winning streak could change things drastically. Not to mention, an injury or two could change circumstances dramatically as well. Therefore, teams fighting for position in the bottom of the East that actually have depth will have the upper hand as the season progresses.
