Samuel L. Jackson got to deliver plenty of good news to friend and longtime Knicks fan Spike Lee on Sunday night.
Jackson, on stage at the Oscars with Brie Larson to announce the nominees and winner for best adapted screenplay, opened by telling Lee that his Knicks had ended their futility at Madison Square Garden by beating the Spurs on Sunday night.
“First of all Spike, so glad you’re sitting down,” said Jackson who starred with Lee and Charles Barkley in a series of Capital One commercials. “After 18 consecutive home losses, the Knicks won tonight. I repeat.
