The New York Knicks had a successful season by any measure. Expectations were not high going into the season. They were not expected to advance past the play-in tournament. A combination of Jalen Brunson’s brilliance, Julius Randle’s regular season renaissance, and the development of the young players led to one of the best Knicks seasons in 20-plus years.
Their playoff run was different from the last Knicks team to make the playoffs. That team from a couple of seasons ago was a veteran roster of guys on short-term contracts. The current team could stay together for years and years if that is what the front office chooses.
