It’s a small world,’’ Sal Alosi chuckled on the phone from Westwood, Calif. on Thursday.
On the UCLA campus, Alosi, the former Jets strength and conditioning coach, spent May through August in Westwood working with Knicks point guard Derrick Rose, grinding his body into as good a condition than maybe it ever has been — a large task considering his two knee surgeries.
Alosi, a Massapequa native, has been the UCLA football team’s strength and conditioning coach going on his sixth season. NFL fans remember him for another incident, but Alosi was willing to break a five-year media silence to talk about Rose’s continued health.
