According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the New York Knicks have agreed to terms with Wisconsin forward Nigel Hayes. Wojnarowski reports the contract, which will likely make Hayes an affiliate player, does offer some salary protection for the upcoming season.
Hayes, who was not selected in the 2017 NBA draft, played for the Knicks during the Orlando Summer League in early July and averaged 5.2 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.4 assists.
Once Hayes signs his deal, the Knicks will have 17 players under contract, with 14 having fully guaranteed salaries for the 2017-18 season.
