Rookie Trier, Mudiay propel Knicks to solid win over Pelicans

Holiday cheer and Trier for the Knicks faithful.

Behind a career-high 25 points from the crowd-pleasing rookie Allonzo Trier and 27 from Emmanuel Mudiay, the Knicks rallied for an improbable 114-109 win over the Pelicans on Friday night at Madison Square Garden.

The Pelicans led 101-92 with 6:00 remaining, and after three competitive quarters, it was shaping up as another night when the Knicks got edged in crunch time by a superior club. Instead the Knicks ripped of a 16-2 run, including 12 from Mudiay sandwiched around four in a row from Trier that gave the Knicks a 104-103 lead with 2:07 to play.
