In what had been a listless performance for much of the night already, the Knicks fell behind by 20 points midway through the third quarter, and it finally seemed to wake up the crowd as the hometown fans rained boos down on the Knicks.
The sound at Madison Square Garden seemed to provide a wake-up call for Julius Randle and the Knicks, too. Randle suddenly began mad-mugging the crowd after every aggressive move to the rim.
