RJ Barrett wants the Knicks. Now, do they want him?
“This is the place I want to be,” Barrett said Monday after finishing his individual workout with the team. “So I hope they draft me.”
The star Duke forward, the likely No. 3 pick that currently belongs to the Knicks, had hinted as much at his Pro Day in Los Angeles, where he fawned over a compliment from Bernard King and said New York is his favorite. Barrett’s mom grew up in the city, and both parents were athletes at St. John’s. He honed some of his game while visiting the city every summer.
