As the New York legend, Jimmer Fredette, sees his time with his hometown Knicks come to an end, it might also signify the start of a new era. The Tony Wroten era.
The Philadelphia 76ers released Wroten on Christmas Eve, just eight games into his return from a torn ACL which ended his 2014-15 campaign. Since then, Wroten has sat in free agency with no teams yet to bite.
The Knicks had some interest around New Years Eve but it went nowhere. With a necessity to upgrade their point guard position, and Jimmer Fredette’s 10-day contract coming to an end, the team revisited the Wroten option.
