When New York Knicks star Kristaps Porzingis suffered a torn ACL last season, one of the questions was whether or not both sides would agree on a $158 million extension prior to next Monday’s deadline.
Stefan Bondy of the New York Daily News mentioned on Wednesday that the Knicks and Porzingis aren’t expected to work out an extension.
And that’s OK.
The good news is that the Knicks will actually save $10 million of cap space by waiting to sign KP as a restricted free agent in July.
While it helps the Knicks, it’s also not a big deal for Porzingis because he’s going to get the money he deserves no matter what.
