With the free-agent market quickly drying up, the Knicks have seemingly pivoted their focus to acquiring a center via a trade.
Over the last week, Nick Richards and Walker Kessler emerged as two strong options New York could target. While neither was being openly put on the trade block, they both seemed reasonably attainable (unless Trader Danny gets stubborn) and were the type of young big men that Tom Thibodeau could develop like he did Isaiah Hartenstein. But with the Jazz looking for at least multiple first-round picks for Kessler, and the Knicks potentially not being comfortable sending out Deuce McBride for Richards, it seems like there’s been very little momentum in a potential trade for those two players.
