Earlier this week, it was reported that the Knicks were among a handful of teams that had continued to check in on the availability of Brooklyn Nets forward Mikal Bridges. It made a lot of sense for New York to do so because the former Villanova Wildcat would transition nicely alongside Jalen Brunson, Josh Hart, and Donte DiVincenzo both on the court and off the court. But because the two teams had only completed four trades ever, it seemed highly unlikely that the two New York-based franchises would actually get anything done. We were all proven wrong though as Adrian Wojnarowski reported late Tuesday night that the Nets have agreed to send Bridges and a 2026 second-round pick to the Knicks for Bojan Bogdanovic, unprotected first-round picks in 2025, 2027, 2029, and 2031, a 2025 protected first-round pick via Milwaukee, a 2028 unprotected pick swap, and a 2025 second-round pick.
