P&T interview with Kiki VanDeWeghe, Part 2

On December 13, 1986, the Detroit Pistons visited the Denver Nuggets for what began as a routine regular-season matchup but ended in NBA history. In an era when teams rarely eclipsed the 100-point mark, this blistering cold Saturday night in Denver was anything but inside the McNichols Sports Arena as the outcome defied all expectations. Isiah Thomas led his Pistons into town to take on Kiki VanDeWeghe and the Nuggets, culminating in the highest-scoring game in league history. In a triple overtime thriller that went back and forth for 58 minutes, the two teams combined for an astonishing 370 points, with the Pistons edging the Nuggets by a mere two points, 186-184.
